Banner for Halloween

Sheesh Louise, it has been a while since I posted here. I made this banner for Halloween and wanted to share.

It was super easy and inspired by studioDIYs: http://www.studiodiy.com/2012/10/25/easy-diy-halloween-bunting/

I used the following supplies:

1 black/white chevron scrapbook paper
1 orange glitter scrapbook paper
Black string
Glue
Tape

I started out by cutting a paper triangle and tracing it on the black chevron paper to make 4 triangles.

Then, I freehanded the letters on the orange glitter paper and cut those out. (You could use letter stencils for this part too).

Then I just lined up the flat part of each triangle with the black string, taped them down, and voila! Halloween banner complete. It adds a little character to this blank while still remaining chic! Love it.

Sorry for the bad quality photos..hopefully upgrading on my camera soon.

Close ups:

Happy Halloween!

Jonathan Adler=Love

I have been smitten with Jonathan Adler since I first spotted a book of his at an old job. Ide never heard of him but his style immediately drew me in. I think he still has been one of my biggest influences. Now if only the price were more to my liking...because I spotted this blanket today via www.dwellingsbydevore.. and I think it might be one of my favorite "happy-chic" products to date!

Before you buy new...

Upon the breaking of an everyday appliance, such as the treasured coffee maker, whats the next best choice? Before you buy new, try calling the company and see what their response is.
Many times, you can get a new one- free of charge, just by making the call. I tell this story from experience. My Mr. Coffee broke, and with a quick inquiry via telephone, they sent me a new one in the mail. Before you buy a new thing just because you think you have to, send a complaint to the company and you might be suprised. It will keep your wallet happier too.
